Chiropractic care during pregnancy
Yes — Eagle Creek cares for patients during pregnancy. Care focuses on the back, hip, and pelvic discomfort that often comes with a changing body, and works alongside your OB or midwife.
How we care for you during pregnancy
Your OB or midwife comes first
Let your prenatal provider know you’re considering chiropractic care — and if your pregnancy is high-risk, check with them before your first visit. We’ll ask about your pregnancy and health history before any care begins.
Comfort-first care
Care is adapted to how far along you are. Positioning, pressure, and technique are adjusted for your comfort, and we explain each step before we begin — you can pause or stop at any time.
Support between visits
Plans often include gentle stretches and practical tips for sitting, standing, lifting, and sleeping as your body changes — things you can use at home between visits.
Why patients come in during pregnancy
As your body changes, your posture, balance, and the way you move change too. Common reasons patients visit include:
- Lower back pain
- Pelvic, hip, or tailbone discomfort
- Pain that travels into the buttock or down the leg
- Upper back and neck tension as your posture changes
- Soreness from changes in balance and how you move
Chiropractic care is not a substitute for prenatal care. We don’t make claims about labor, delivery, or your baby’s position — those questions belong with your OB or midwife.
What to expect
Your first visit starts with a conversation: how far along you are, how your pregnancy is going, who your prenatal provider is, and what’s bothering you. We’ll look at posture and movement with your comfort in mind, then explain what we found and whether we recommend care.
Some patients come in early in pregnancy; others when discomfort starts later on. Either way, the plan is built around you and adjusted as your pregnancy progresses — and we’ll always defer to your OB or midwife.
When to call your OB or midwife instead
Don’t wait for a chiropractic visit if you notice warning signs like these. Contact your OB or midwife right away — or call 911 in an emergency:
- Vaginal bleeding or leaking fluid
- Severe belly pain that doesn’t go away
- A headache that won’t go away, vision changes, or dizziness
- Your baby moving less than usual, or stopping
- Fever of 100.4°F or higher
- Swelling of your face or hands
- Trouble breathing, chest pain, or a racing heartbeat
